I tend to agree with MZ. In reality, we have serious trouble with only two
modems. The Rockwell HCF and the Sportster Winmodem. The modems the PM3
works with, it works with well. It's great with Sportster (real), Couriers
and most Rockwell (real) modems. It's phenomenal for ISDN (except for some
bacp brain damage) and makes the LT Winmodem look like a champ.

The problem is the PM3 doesn't work well with the two of the most popular
modems on the market! It's bad luck and hopefully Lucent will find a tweak
for the lame HCFs. The fix for the Winmodem seems to be 3Com's issue. They
are shipping these with ancient firmware.

I was going to purchase a TC for the problem modems but after thinking about
it I decided to tough it out for awhile. If they can fix the HCF problem,
the PM3 will be sufficient as a single RAS solution. Until then, regular
reboots of the PM3 seem to help stability. However, that could be just my
imagination.
