Well, but Germany *is* Europe and we're also in Europe and K56flex works
for us just fine. Also every single instance of a user getting bad
connects to us with V.34 could be tracked to either a faulty line or a
faulty modem on their side. Replacing either (or upgrading the modem
flash) fixed the problem.

So I still don't understand what your major problem is. Ok, you want V.90.
But V.90 is not an official standard yet. You want K56flex. But K56flex
*does* work on the PM3. If it absolutely does not for you then it is
probably your telco (Deutsche Telekom? yuck).

But I do agree that the quality of the product seems to be declining with
time. Our first PM3 (an original Livingston one) was working just fine
since day 1 with all software revisions I tried (except 3.8b17 which was
beta, so it doesn't count). Two units that we got later had hardware
problems (one we still have, still not sure if it is the modem card or the
hardware itself), we replaced one. Also software updates seem to be
lagging behind greatly and yes, I'm upset too that I have to wait for PM3
software to be finished first, before I get new software for our PM2's
(OSPF over dialup for backup purposes, anyone? - Lucent, *please*
release new software for PM2's, too).

Almost everybody makes advertisments with V.90, but few (if anybody) can
offer stable V.90. Really, you do not want to rush it.

Are we talking about the same hardware? I mean, with all the taxes we have
to pay, our prices are usually higher then in the rest of Europe, but we
still didn't pay $45000 even when we imported the box from the
Netherlands. Where did you get that figure from????
