I can't produce a real one right now to capture, but it sho mx shows the
modem state active, and sho sx shows the status "CONNECTING". As I said,
debug 0x51 shows LCP and IPCP open, connection succeeded, his end shows
the connection established and it tries to send data. He is supposed to
call me tomorrow.

Is there any possibility it could be a telco issue? I have an open ticket
with Lucent and am working with GTE on a problem with abyssmal connect
rates for V.34 users, but 48-50K for K56Flex. (That wouldn't happen to be
you I talked to Friday, would it?)
