The CSU has nothing to do with STAC. STAC is a compression protocol. It
will run on any network interface as long as the other end supports it,
although I do not know if we *officially* support it on the T1 interface I
do know that it seems to work just fine when used on it.

You don't need a CSU/DSU at all if going from PM3 to PM3 since that is
built into the Portmasters themselves.
