(PM) Connection problems with 56K modems.

Hi,

Since upgrading to the 56K true digital modems and ComOS 3.7.2 on our
PM3 generally everything has been great other than about 3 customers
with V34/V34+ modems that now get connection problems.

With these ones the modems seem to negotiate OK but they get one of the
Win95 DUN messages (compatbile set of protocols, disconnected from the
computer you dialed or the computer didn't answer etc etc) I got one of
them to try using HyperTerminal to connect and sure enough they just got
garbage. Setting speed to 19,200 at their end sorts the problem out.
With HyperTerminal they get a Login prompt OK and with DUN they connect.

Obviously this ISN'T a solution.

This has happened with : Microcom Deskporte 28p, some V34 Philips modem
and a generic internal V34+ modem.

The customers aren't too anoyed as at least they can connect now but it
isn't really a solution. I am assuming (hoping) that an Init string will
work to sort this out but without the manuals for the different
modems/one of the modems to test, I am a bit stuck.

Any ideas ? Anyone else seeing this ?

Cheers

Phil
