Here on the list we know enough to put it in context. Well, those of us
who have been here for a while do -I know new foks can get confused.

But, unless I'm the confused one this time, officially we still support
28.8. Yes, the current code can do 33.6K - sometimes it even hits it
bidirectional - but not reliably. So we weren't claiming it.

But you are also correct that the new modem cards are the real 33.6K
solution. Sinve *everyone* should be upgrading (if you haven't registered,
go to the web and do so), and the old cards will not be developed for
further, that's the best move.
