We actually chose to move from PRI to CT1 because of a pricing issue here
in Texas with GTE. We were on PRI's w/GTE for 2 years before changing.
We DID see a small drop of about 2k on our people who were connecting
with variuos 56k modems. We also started to have more problems with
overall connects in that they would drop after a minute or two. Using
init strings to control the max speed of the modems fixed most of those
issues. All in All CT1's seem to be a bit slower and more picking on
modem/line quality.

Reason for the change (downgrade) from our side from PRI's to CT1... were
two fold.

#1 Cost savings... about $600/month/CT1
#2 ADSL... now that we offer ADSL... we would like to see EVERY customer
we have move to it. It is very cool!

The adsl fact is the bigger long term factor...No radius... no busy
signals...no modem init string bs. I love our portmasters BUT... they
would go away today if we moved everyone off to adsl. Obviuosly since
only about 10% of our customer qualify for adsl... we must make our PM3's
work.

Just my 2 cents
