Looks funny to me. IIRC, that is an engineering version of ComOS 3.8 that
was available on closed beta between 3.8 and 3.8.2 that contained various
modem bug fixes. You'd probably be better upgrading to ComOS 3.8.2, but
the current version of ComOS suffers from its own share of problems[1].
ComOS 3.8.2 works great for some people and not for others.

While I'm on the topic of ComOS reliability (again), I've found a great
way to keep ComOS from rebooting itself[2]. About two weeks ago, I made a
configuration change (enabled OSPF and increased the number of PMConsole
sessions), which requires a reboot[3]. I didn't both rebooting because I
reckoned that the portmangler would reboot itself at some point.

However, much to my surprise the damn thing has been totally rock solid
since I made the change. Can anyone else verify this as a reproducable
fix or is it merely amusing?

[1] YMMV
[2] My pm3 has been rebooting itself every 3-5 days for the last month.
[3] Configuration changes such as changing the IP address of the ethernet
port should not require a reboot in this day and age. Any OS that's worth
its salt today supports dynamic loading of modules (e.g. IOS, Linux) and
even Windows NT will let you change it's IP address without rebooting if
you ask it nicely enough.
