Re: (PM) More on DUN

My question is, what does AOHell use?

All of my users use the stock DUN with a full range of versions up to the
latest distributed with Windoze98, and 97.5% of them don't have a problem,
the other 2.5% that has had a problem, when we switched modems, the DUN
worked flawlessly - which is making me wonder if it is some incompatibility
with modem drivers and DUN?

The next question is - if that user had tried to connect to a Cisco or
Ascend or USR unit, what would have happened? it would be nice to know if
it was just the modem drivers +dun, or if it were something more serious
like dun and PM.

Remember my post "Mad as Hell?" Well, here's another one...

This guy was blasting in at 45,333 for over a month, then *BANG*
can't connect at all. I tried *all* of the usual tricks. He even
signed up with another local PM3-based ISP. No luck there, either.
This moring, I get this:

Do you see what I mean? AOHell's software *WORKS!* Thanks to all of
you who suggested sources for installation CD's but every single one
of those companies' kits installs DUN... UNACEPTABLE!

Oh, and in reference to Sherwood vs. Lucent SinModems... Things used
to be a hell of a lot easier and a lot more reliable before modem
manufacturers decided to reinvent the wheel. If the ISA slot of a 486
can EASILY handle a T1 card, what the FSCK do we need PCI modems
for?!?!

Having a bad day,
Scott
