(PM) strange dns on pm2e's (long)

I'm seeing some very weird behavior and am hoping to catch a clue...
Pardon the length of this but wanted to provide the proper info...

None of my dialup customers are able to resolve DNS all of a sudden and it
seems to be specific to two of my PM2E's. Have a look at this if you don't
mind....

"bravo.overland.net" is our primary nameserver with an IP of 208.235.195.3

Okay first to show that I am indeed authoritative for my stuff and other
nameservers can find us:

> server ns.internic.net
Default Server: ns.internic.net
Address: 198.41.0.4

> set type=any
> bravo.overland.net
Server: ns.internic.net
Address: 198.41.0.4

Authoritative answers can be found from:
OVERLAND.NET nameserver = BRAVO.OVERLAND.NET
OVERLAND.NET nameserver = NS.NWOL.NET
OVERLAND.NET nameserver = SANCARLOS.OVERLAND.NET
BRAVO.OVERLAND.NET internet address = 208.235.195.3
NS.NWOL.NET internet address = 209.240.160.7
SANCARLOS.OVERLAND.NET internet address = 208.235.195.5

> server bast.livingston.com
Default Server: bast.livingston.com
Address: 149.198.247.2

> bravo.overland.net
Server: bast.livingston.com
Address: 149.198.247.2

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: bravo.overland.net
Address: 208.235.195.3

And bravo itself knows who it is:

bravo 61# ifconfig ec0
ec0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,FILTMULTI,MULTICAST>
inet 208.235.195.3 netmask 0xffffffe0 broadcast 208.235.195.31

I cannot find ANY entries anywhere on bravo that point to an old AGIS net
address for bravo (206.250.40.3). Checked everything in /var/named and
/etc/, etc.

So here's a pertinent entry from one of my PM2e's:

alpine> sho global
Name Service: DNS
Name Server: bravo.overland.net, ns.nwol.net
Domain: overland.net

But here's what I get when I try to ping bravo from "alpine":

alpine> ping bravo.overland.net
No answer from bravo.overland.net (206.250.40.3)

Note the old AGIS IP for bravo.

However from a different PM2e that I brought online AFTER I had gotten off
of AGIS:

pm2-alpine> sho global
Name Service: DNS
Name Server: bravo.overland.net, ns.nwol.net
Domain: overland.net

pm2-alpine> ping bravo.overland.net
bravo.overland.net (208.235.195.3) is alive

The bad DNS seems to be in my two older PM2's, but if they're all using
bravo for their DNS why would one be able to find it and the other two not?

I'm baffled. Hoping somebody has some suggestions...

Thanks in advance,
Todd Jagger
