Danger Will Robinson! Don't *EVER* do this!
I found this out the hard way several years ago. The APC power strip
is not "dumb," but has some semi-fancy internal circuitry. For some
reason, it fights with the groomed output of a SU, and guess which
piece wins... Mine actually melted!
If you have to use a strip, it *MUST* be the "dumb" kind.
