b15 is NOT stable.

Some of the problems we have with it (and yes, we have reported them
"officially", not that its changed much) include serious and severe problems
with certain 28.8 modems being able to connect *AT ALL*.

One of the affected modems, ironically, is non-upgraded 28.8 USR Sportsters!
A good percentage of them (it is firmware revision related) cannot negotiate
a connection to the b15 release under any circumstances in our environment.

Rockwell 28.8 modems have similar problems.

Some 33.6 firmware will connect, but train up at unsustainable speeds and
NOT retrain downward - leading to connections which are "up" but return
usable bit rates approximating 300 bps!

Needless to say, we backed that one out.

SLIP is also completely broken in that branch of code.

There is a "quiet" internal release which post-dates b15 (v90b14) which
also has similar problems and lasted less than 24 hours here in our testing.

Why the V.90 code (which is actually quite good in the later internal
release) totally screws 28.8 modems is beyond me, but it does, and its
a serious issue if you have customers with older modems who have not
upgraded.

We are running CT1s with wink start on our analog plant.

I consider the V.90 code on the PM3, at this point, to be unusable and
am awaiting the next internal release or public beta before attempting
further testing.

Turn times also concern me at this point - we were, at one time, seeing
new releases for testing about once a week or two. Now we're up to
approximately 30 days between *TEST* releases, and its closing in on
60 days since b15 was posted publically.

At least K56Flex is stable at this point, but the lack of operational
V.90 support is upsetting.
