What is the actual connection [speed] that he IS getting? Take a look at
a "show modems" and "show mX". It will list the Tx/Rx speeds as well as
the disconnect reason once he disconnects (although perhaps not
volunteerly). If he is not actually getting a V.90 connect then this may
be the V.34 issues I've spoken about in 3.8b15.
