Since winmodems are primarily plug and play devices, they also depend on how
well the BIOS reports the device to Windows.
>From my experience: Win 3.1 and Winmodem doesn't work (rarely works). Win
95, get updated driver from USR. Otherwise, trash it because all Winmodems
are junk.

We need some real quick help here, we have customer who has a USR Sportster
Winmodem, and they can hardly ever connect to us. It dial tries to negotiate
then disconnects.
