How about the "PortMaster Internet Address Setup" option from pminstall
running as root? It picks up the PortMaster's broadcast request for an
IP and sends back an IP. I use that - the last two PM3s I setup I never
plugged into the serial port. I just plugged them into the ethernet,
set the address, ran my setup script that uses pmcommand, setup DNS and
RADIUS and Choicenet secrets, and I was done. It took me longer to
unpackage the PM3 and install the compression card and rack mount ears
and modems than it did to configure it.
