The SLIP implementation is no longer tolerent of misconfigured MTU
sizes. The MTU size on both sides must now match. Trumpet Winsock
defaults to 1500, and PM3 (PM2 is different!) only goes up to 1006.

Old SLIP behaviour on PM3:

MTU: 1006
MRU: 1500

New SLIP behavioiur on PM3:

MTU: 1006
MRU: 1006

I consider this whole thing very strange.
