1) pray to your favorite diety
2) offer sacrifices of old 2400 baud modems to telco gods
3) check line condition, semi-given in another posting I just made...
4) can you test from his site with an alternative modem?
5) if computer was taken to office does it exhibit the same condition?
6) is that phone line being used the only device on it? having other
things like answering machines cordless phones etc, can drop the voltage
level of the circuit.. too much capacitance being put on the line if I
remember correctly.

;) don't forget to list ComOS, Lucent DSPs are installed, and that other
users have been able to get in with K56Flex.
