Test builds end up with something like "ComOS 3.7/090197120050"
Stuff like that. Since you need to differentiate them, and you can never
know that it is going to be *the* final version, you build them with
special version numbers. If one works out, you reset the version,
build it, and it goes. Running all the tests over again is rarely done.
No one I know at any vendor does this. It is very rare for a slip up to
happen doing a build. But Murphy is always there, and that's what happened.
I really can't believe the ridiculous volume of mail over something so
simple. I'm done with this topic.
