I remember a similar problem SPECIFICALLY with ws_ftp and PM 2e's. I dont
remember specifically fixing it tho. The problem I would see is that
WS_FTP would get slower, and slower and SLOWER, and eventually DIE.

I think we just tinkered and messed with modem strings and had people
upgrade to newer ws-ftp and the problem seems to have gone away. It was
about a year ago I saw the problem.
