In my experience, this is a modem config problem. I'm used to seeing
it with Trumpet, where I can see clearly what's happening:

- Some (old?) program stores a modem config locking modem port to 2400

- Trumpet sets computer port to, say, 57600, sends "atz"

- Modem autobauds to 57600, reads "atz"

- Modem restores config with 2400 lock, sends "OK" at 2400

- Computer port autobauds to 2400

- Rest of session occurs at 2400

None of my Win95 users have had this problem yet, and I'm not familiar
enough with Win95 to know how to prevent a modem reset.
