Unless the interrupt on the modem is set to some irq other than the one used by
com1 such as '5', then it should work just fine. But I sure have to agree with
the one step at a time approach.
First make sure the modem works.
Then check the setup string. Not using hardware flow control can sure muck stuff
up. The wrong password can certainly cause lengthy discussions between the two
systems if the retry count is set high, etc...the concept of case sensitivity is
a diffficult one at times...a little anti-eecummings in all of us.
