Hi,

I'm new to this group. I am getting used to the Livingston portmaster for
the last two months and, as we grow up, I've begun to have trouble
understanding his behavior.

Users --------- PM 0 ------------|
194.2.128.[30-59] 194.2.128.240 |
|
Users --------- PM 1 ------------|
194.2.128.[60-89] 194.2.128.241 |
|
Users --------- PM 0 ------------|
194.2.128.[90-119] 194.2.128.242 |
|
|
Main Ethernet trunk=20
shared by 194.2.128.xxx
and by 194.51.232.yyy

with main computers using RIP
and some routers not using RIP=A8

-------------------------------------

When Users connect to a PM (Livingston portmaster), PM assigns an IP address
and then advertizes on RIP, the new route, let's say:

route add host 194.2.128.34 194.2.128.240

PM 0 will also respond to arp requests regarding 194.2.128.34.

--------------------------------------

For some reason, I do need to assign adress to some connected users within
the 194.51.232.0 IP class.

When a known user connects to the PM, and get (let's say) the 194.51.232.34
IP address (through the RADIUS database), the PM advertizes on RIP the new
route :

route add net 194.51.232.34 194.2.128.240

PM 0 won't respond to arp requests regarding 194.51.232.34, even if the
request comes from some main computers on the Ethernet trunk within the
194.2.128.0 IP class.

--------------------------------------

TWO things I want to be changed :

First:

PM 0 should advertize on RIP=20
route add host 194.51.232.34 194.2.128.240
^^^^
(194.51.232.0 is a variably subnetted network, as is 194.2.128.0)

I tried my best to setup Framed-Netmask in the RADIUS database without=
success.

Any suggestions ?

Second:
I'd like (very much) the PM 0 respond to arp requests (proxy-arp) regarding
the 194.51.232.34 IP address.

Is that at all possible ? questionnable ?

Thanks for your support.
