I had the EXACT same problem! Make sure to set rts/cts on and set xon/xoff
to off. As long as you use hardware flow control, you should be ok. You MUST
turn off software flow control or Macs WILL NOT WORK! This damn problem
frustrated me for a week! I bought a Mac to fix it. It was only a simple
flow control problem. The funny part is that only Macs and Trumpet users had
a problem connecting... everything else worked fine.
