Happens on both 14.4 and 28.8 connections, so doubt this is the case.
Most people with 28.8 do connect at 28.8 or 26.4 however. I doubt it is
line noise since a shell session can last for hours on end, while
SLIP/PPP sessions are not nearly as stable.

We've got 2 servers currently, and I'm sure they are assigning different
IP ranges. The problem was occuring before we even added the 2nd PM
however, so, again, this is likely not the case.

I'm not 100 % sure, but I would suspect they do have the cts/rts signals.
Again, I refer to the shell session scenario. Why would that work while a
SLIP/PPP connection not work?
