Hi Phil,

What you can do is configure the portmaster port so that you can
telnet to the modem, make any configuration changes (such as
adjusting modem speed etc) To do this pefrom the following steps

telnet to the portmaster and login as !root

set s?? service_device telnet 60??
set s?? twoway
reset s??
telnet (portmaster ip) 60??

( make your changes and exit by <CTRL> ]

set s?? service device portmaster
set s?? login netowork dialin
reset s??

(Note ?? equals the port number on the portmaster..1 ,2,3
telnet address should be in the range of 6001,6002,6003, etc)
