(PM) new modems dont work except with 3.8.2

Is anyone else noticing that the new lucent 10 modem pm3 cards arent
working with the last OFFICIAL release 3.8?

The modems just freeze on INIT. Only way I found to beat it is to run
beta. Looks like 'A' revision, 9845 xilinx.
