(PM) PM2 not getting thru boot process

After trying to upgrade . . . the PortMaster 2E is not able to get all of
the way through the boot process...
Console displays "loading Image at 0ffff0000 30720" then hangs. Any
ideas how to erase NVRAM without getting a prompt?
