Sounds bad call or e-mail support for either testing assistance or RMA.

Setting modem off doesn't affect the data channel at all. If you're
running CT1 then you may have complaints about either 'no answer' or
'busy' if PRI, no worries since you have extra modems to compensate and
answer.

Personally, I like to get 5 x 10 mdm cards even with PRI, so it's easier
to swap things around.
