Interesting....

I'd like to know who the tech was.. as his suggestion to 'disengage'
modems doesn't make much sense to me.

However, the hfile corrupting makes sense, and I have the faint glimmer
that it's been posted to this list before.

For those 2 that posted here that they had problems, how did you load the
ComOS? PMConsole, tftp, PMVision?

I've only used PMConsole myself and haven't had this kind of problem.

This error is generated if the help file (hfile) is not loaded. To fix simply have the customer reload the ComOS image. The help file is last to be loaded and a premature reboot will cause this file not to be loaded. You can verify if the hfile exists or not in flash by using the 'show files' command.

The tech also mentioned that when reloading the ComOS image, it's a good idea to remove the hot-swappable modems (don't need to pull them out all the way -- just disengage them) first. This is because reloading the OS also flashes each modem, and that's not necessary.
