I suggest checking the recent archives - most of the flames around her lately
have been related to ComOS 3.8. Yes, it is currently a beta - three revs
are out in public. 3.8b13, 3.8b15, and 3.8b17. b15 and b17 have the new
V.90 beta modem code which does still have issues. I just plain wouldn't use
b15. The modem code in b17 is better, unfortunately some other things broke
so it isn't very stable for many people.
b13 still has the K56flex code, though an update from c3 I understand.

Personally, unless there is something in PMVision you absolutely cannot
do without, I'd wait for a more stable beta of 3.8, or the final release.
