I've seen messages going back and forth about this modem. As we've also
had some problems with this modem, we grabbed one this weekend to do some
testing. We were (finally!) able to get them to work just fine with the
beta firmware.

So, for those having problems with the SupraMax PCI modems, download the
beta software (It's not really firmware as the modem is a software-based
modem) from http://beta.supra.com/ and the modem should connect just fine.

We're running 3.8b17, and we were able to get 42K and 44K (K56Flex speeds)
with the beta software. We didn't have to do any special disabling of the
V.90 support either.

Hope that helps!

PS - I still won't recommend the SupraMax PCI modems, especially now that I
realize it's a software-based modem, but at least we can get them to work
for current users.
