(PM) Choicenet problem on Linux

When attempting to run the Livingston Choicent filter daemon I get:

./filterd: can't load library 'libgdbm.so.1'

I did a locate and I have that library in

/usr/i486-linux-libc5/libgdbm.so.1

I tried running ldconfig to make sure everything was linked but it had no
effect. The system is running Redhat Linux v5.0 with kernel 2.0.32.

Livingston opened a ticket but after several weeks they politely said that
they are not going to support Redhat Linux.

Does anyone have any suggestions on anything I can do to get this to run
with Redhat Linux 5.0? If not, I guess my next option would be to load
v4.2 on that box and see if it works. My last resort is to keep our
Solaris v2.5 box in our network.

TIA...
