(PM) PRI problems (fwd)

Once upon a time Roger M. Black shaped the electrons to say...
>I'm running a PM3, version 3.7.2, with 2 PRIs. When any b channel of line0
>is active, there are bipolar violations and CRC errors and I get complaints
>about slow response and disconnects. Line1 seems to work perfectly, no runs
>no drips no errors.
>
>If I swap the PRIs, the problem moves. BellSouth (the networking wizkids)
>has checked and claims there are no problems, it must be my equipment.

The errors indicate problems on the PRI - and the fact that the problem
follows the line is the kicker - you have a problem on the PRI. If you
can more the line around and wherever you use it it has the same problems,
you should be able to force BA to address it.

>---------------------- line0 - T1 Primary Rate ISDN ---------------
> Status: UP Framing: ESF Encoding: B8ZS PCM: u-law
> Receive Level: -15dB to -22.5dB

This receive level is very low. +2 to -7.5 is great, -7.5 to -15 is ok,
I don't like to see a level this low. Next is "less than -22.5", which
means off the scale. Perhaps this line is at the extreme low end of this
range.
