Re: (PM) ITU v.90 info

That is completely irrelevant in light of the reality of the situation:

USR, Lucent, and Rockwell (finally!) have all agreed to support the
current "standard". All shipping v.90 modems either conform to this
standard or WILL conform to this standard. All major terminal servers,
with the notable exception of Lucent, DO support this standard.

So, as I said previously, lack of v.90 support _is_ the price we pay for
being a Livingston-only shop. This is something we may rethink the next
time we add modems, since it's not a particularly happy spot for us or
our customers.

I honestly don't see how anyone can look at the rubble that is b17 and go
"Oh, Livingston is doing a fine job!". Regardless of their past record
(which I'd say is excellent), they have dropped the ball -- and I would
say badly -- on the issue of v.90 support.

Once again, no one in the "real world" really cares if the final standard
won't be out until September. What we care about is interoperability
with the v.90 that is shipping today. Or didn't you want k56flex support
in the PM-3? THAT'S not even a standard.
