Oh I have no idea. They're not new though. I wasn't actually digging
around inside the SLC... I just happened to see it in passing. I do know
the entire cabinet (or the majority of the cabinet) was running mode-1
because the telco technician I was with rewired me because I was having a
ton of problems. He called HQ and asked them where in the cabinet he could
install my line and they told him anywhere because it was all mode-1.
If I remember correctly, the SLC was labeled "AT&T", so it's at least two
years old.

I wouldn't be surprised if these were copper fed from a fiber junction
nearby. San Antonio has a good amount of fiber in place. Southwestern
Bell is installing it exclusively for trunking, I believe.
