The most reliable release code is 3.7.2c3

That is not to say that it's perfect.

Certainly. And my point was not that even release code is perfect, or that
v.34 issues should not be addressed - my point is that bitching and moaning
on this list isn't doing a bit o' good, and expecting issues to be fixed
immediately in beta code is foolish.

Lucent (then Livingston) did release, fairly quickly, fixes to problems
with v.34 back at 3.7. That was release code, not beta code.

Not at all - you missed my point. Or perhaps I didn't make it clearly enough.

To be clear: expecting anything but grief from beta code is overly
optimistic. If you can't afford to take the chance with beta software, don't.
