We're seeing lots of nagging problems with our PM3, and since I do most
of the support it's a serious pain. We still haven't resolved the almost
universal problem of flex modems connecting at higher speeds than the
lines allow causing disconnects and inabilities to connect at all; someone
suggested poor PRI lines but how the heck can you test that? Getting the
local phone people to look for a fix to it would almost require some sort
of 'evidence' to get them off their butts.

There are also plenty of problems connecting with PCMCIA based modems and
digital GSM connects (ie using a GSM phone + a PCMCIA card as a modem) to
our PM3 - which is bad enough, but extremely galling when those same
modems and GSM phones work brilliantly with Sonera's equipment every time,
and I believe they use Ascend stuff (not sure).

As things are, they are better than with our old, incredibly sucky analog
33.6 modems - but they are still not good.=20
