Ok, I've heard the "whining" and I've heard the complaints, and I've
heard the requests for constructive criticism.

I'd have to agree at least in small part about wanting more
information. Now, I understand that having dates probably won't make
much difference. However, I do see the points being made that a bit
more insight into the process might help calm us down.

How about it, Lucent? Think we could maybe just get some kind of brief
periodic report? Like, perhaps weekly? Informal, even!

Maybe even just something like:

"This last week, we have mostly been working on resolving the strange
v.34 problem that popped up again."

"...This week we have fine-tuned the v.90 interoperability with the
Rockwell chipset."

"And now, this week, the unusual problems with Sportsers were isolated
and (hopefully) resolved."

ETC.

Total silence is perhaps slightly unnerving, even though I know the code
is going to be worth the wait. And this is just a thought, so don't
flip out if you think it is a bad idea!

P.S. THIS ALL MEANS that you (Yes, this means YOU!) must DEFINITELY
remember to inform Lucent of ANY problems with the beta versions you are
using. Give them as much feedback (constructive!) as possible to help
them track down problems and fix them!
