I've downloaded kaffe again and am attempting another compile. I've tried
this once before, and was utterly unable to get it to work, and I've compiled
and installed some nasty programs in the past. The latest problem seems to
be that the .so libraries it's creating aren't actually libraries according
to my system :-/ I'll look at japhar, and hopefully that will be easier to
deal with.

But hell, needing a JRE for a command line utility? Isn't that like using
an elephant gun to go rabbit hunting?
