I don't know much about the USR's, but this suprises me. Portmaster units
drop DTR when the port is reset, and most modems do a hard reset upon DTR
drop. This is a configurable item on the modem (usually at&d3).

The modems themselves aren't bad; when you cycle the power, all of them
come
back up and perform nicely. Its just that every once in a while, one will
decide to 'stick' and I end up driving to the site and flipping switches.
I
was thinking perhaps there is someway to send commands to the modem from
inside the portmaster, or forcing DCD down.
