(PM) PM3 Configuration Problems

I have just installed my first PM-3 which is running 3.7.2c3 and using CT1
on line 0. I am having a problem and I am stuck for a solution.

The problem is that my laptop can't make a PPP connection. The modem
answers and negoiated a connection but then it drops. Here are some things
I have done to debug the situation:

1. Turned on debug 0x51 and got no output when I dialed in with my PPP
client.

2. Turned on mdp-status and mdp-events and saw that the modem was
answering when I dialed in.

3. Used a terminal emulation program to dial in, got a "login:"
prompt, and was able to login as !root.

4. Used a terminal emulation program to dial in, got a "login:"
prompt, and was able to login with my radius username/password.

The PPP session was started, I got output from the debug 0x51
showing the lcp negoiation attempts, and I got the expected ascii
representation of the PPP packets on the terminal emulation screen.

This shows that radius authentication is working.

It looks to me as the PPP session never starts. PAP is configured "on" and
"chap" is configured "off".

The PPP client works fine with any of 6 PM2s and a USR TC so I an confident
that my problem lies in something I forgot to do in the PM3 configuration.

So, I am stuck and have been unable to find the missing link. I have
opened an incident with support but the call back will come tomorrow.

Can someone suggest the solution?

Thanks.

Butch
