The problem is that I'm trying to avoid telneting to the equipment (except
for the pm-11). Several times a machine will not respond for telnet,
however you are able to console login with a serial cable. Is what you
are saying doing this? Perhaps I don't quite understand.

Here is an example of one of our pops with the equipment that I need to be
able to console connect

2 pm3's
1 Cisco 2514
2 CSU/DSU's
1 Remote Power Controller
1 Hub or Switch
