"reset dialers" is meant to remove the route as a background task. I have
never managed to persuade it to remove it though!

However, "ifconfig ptp* down" does work (eventually). It correctly marks
it as Obsolete. It appears to remove it after it has got to the
destination by another route. Whaetever, the ifconfig does disable the
location's route.
