We've found that adding ,,d, at the end of the telephone numbers helps
quite a bit. As well, another measure that seems to work well is, if
they have an aptiva, remove the driver and let the system re-detect
it. After performing both of these actions, we have no problems with
Mwave modems connecting.

Its common knowledge around IPA here that MWave modems are basically
crap.
We use Ascend Maxen in about 75% of our pops and PM3's in around 25%
or
so, and both places MWaves cannot get logged in to us. No luck
whatsoever. If ANYONE has any suggestions for us, please email me.
We
are lost with these modems, and unfortunately there are a LOT of
users
with these modems.
