Have you tried assigning the ethernet port one of the ip's, and using "ip
unnumbered" on the bri interface? Don't even worry about using both ip's.

...and then there's always the NAT option.

Or... if you feel that you must use both ip's, I'm just about positive
that you could assign a /24 (or whatever netmask is on those ip's), and a
/32 on the bri interface... everything should work fine as long as you
have proper static routes for your "ip route www.xxx.yyy.zzz yadda yadda"

Hope that helps a little bit. Best resource: http://www.cisco.com :)

I'm having a bit of trouble with an ISP using a PortMaster 2. I'm
trying to configure my 1604 to connect. As most people know, ROUTING is
the transfer of data from one Internet Domain, or subnet, to another.
My ISP assigned me an IP for the BRI interface and the Ethernet
interface. However, both IP's are in the SAME subnet!! Cisco does not
allow this.

The ISP says that Livingston tech support set them up this way. I can't
believe that would be true.

What can I tell my contact at the ISP to get him to correctly subnet on
his end, and assign me usable IP's.

I welcome any input.
