Yes, Typically it means that the circuit lost framing or timing
momentarily and had to sync back up. Almost like a retrain/renegotiation
on a modem line. (not quite) It does not however mean necessarily that
you lost the carrier signal so there wasn't an open on the line. And the
units will resync back up usually in a fraction of a second so it was
probably a momentary burp. During the actual time of loss of sync, no
data can be passed.
