Once upon a time Henrik Johansson shaped the electrons to say...
>scanned the Livingston website, but I can't seem to find any references.
>If you know of any, please point me to them.

I believe one of the ComOS release notes had it - there is always the
search engine.

>port S56 terminated - User Request - Call Circuit Closed

The DS0 the call came in on was closed. Either the user hung up or the
telco turned it off - looks the same.

>port S50 terminated - User Request - Normal LAPM Disconnect
>Is this the users modem disconnecting because of too many V42 errors?

No, this is a GOOD disconnect. A Normal LAPM Disconnect is the cleanest
disconnect a modem can have.

>port S37 terminated - User Error - PPP NCP Active to Request
>This looks like someone without TCP/IP installed, correct?

No, this means someone had a PPP connection running. Everything was done -
LCP and NCP steps were complete. Then their stack sent another negotiation
request. PortMasters will NOT go from an active link back to the negotiaion
phase, so we disconnected.

>port S42 terminated - Port Error - Exceeded LAPM retransmission limit
>Is this the PM3 disconnecting because of too many V42 errors?

Yes, this could be caused by that. But the only thing for sure is that
LAPM exceeded the retransmission limits, not really enough to determine
causality alone.
