Just for the record, here is a connect report generated using the
same scripts that were posted to this list for RadiusNT. The data covers
all K56flex connects between October 1st and Feb 23rd. It was compiled
accross a bank of 4 PM-3 boxes, connected to Ameritech w/ 2 seperate
switches (5ESS and DMS-100).
Our staff tends to have a good laugh when the new issues of
Boardwatch arrive. I can honestly say that the K56flex implementation on
the PM-3 units makes me one hell of a happy Livingston / Lucent RABU
customer.
Our decision to stop reccomending USR Products has earned us some
odd looks from customers, but after a quick explanation of fiascos such as
Soldered Eproms, Spiral of Death Syndrome and the whole X-2 situation they
thank us for having the balls to go against the market grain. No client
that has returned a Sporster for a Zoom or Motorola has EVER called us and
complained about our reccomendation.
What does this have to do with Rickard? Nothing really, but based
on the data collected below, it is easy to see that approximately 75% of
our K56flex calls are connecting at 42,000 and above. This sort of blows
the arguement that the PM-3 has a lacklustre K56flex implementation.
End result? Customers are a LOT happier! Sales are up! Business is
good! And I've just placed an order for more PM-3 units. You just can't
knock a product that is virtually 0 maintenance and just plain WORKS! I've
got competitors tearing their hair out over Ascend and Cisco NAS products.
To them, good luck! :)
