We have (will have..) a Bay Networks ASN Router with Sync ports as the
local end of a long distance connection to a POP. The sync port will be
attached via a cable to a US Robotics Courier V.everything modem, which will
be used (either) as a synchronous dial-device, or a synchronous leased
modem.
By dial-device I mean that we may have to use it to dial-out to the remote
pop
via analog POTS service if the leased line we want is not practical or
possible.
On the other end, we were strongly thinking about having a similiar US
Robotics
Courier modem, feeding a PM-2E-R, into its sync port. At that remote pop,
there
may be a web server acting as a local caching point for those subscribers
that are
based in that area-code.
Admittedly this may be a bit more simplistic requirement than those of you
with PRI, ISDN,
CT1, etc. but at present in this region this is about as advanced as it
gets.
Is there a more appropriate forum to ask this question? (say Livingston
pre-sales, is there
such a thing)
