(PM) Ghost modems

I thought the Ghost modem problem was fixed. I do a "sh mo" on a box with
2 10's and 1 8 and the last 2 (M28 and M29) still show up, in TEST mode.
They DONT exist. Eventually they say ERROR. Then ... they go away. Is this
normal behavior? Its not that big a deal if it is. This is on c3.

Also im wondering. Suppose I got 2 of those Lucent chips and 4 of those
A/D chips that go on the back, could I solder them on and turn an 8 modem
card into a 10 modem card? ;-) I wonder how much they cost... Would that
void the warranty? (rhetorical question.)
